It is so important for a webmaster to have statistics of his/her website. Through a collection of data, a webmaster can analyse the patern of their website’s visitors, geolocation, visitors count and everything. This will give you the idea where or what you should focus more or less.
Google Analytics is a good place to start. A good program provided for free by Google to help webmasters. It’s easy to use, all you need to do is put the codes provided into your webpage and analytics’ll start collecting data from your site.
Analytics Visitors Overlay
On this panel you see your visitor’s graph, visits, pageviews on a specific date or in a date range. This way you can see it clearly what day your site has the most visits. This is not all, analytics will give you a complete report on your site. From here you can select each item for a detailed data. You can even know their screen resolutions.
Analytics Browsers
Here you can identify what type of browser your visitor is using. Which on ehas the most visit. So it’s time to tweak your site’s code and themes to function properly whenever visitor hits your website with these softwares.
Analytics Content Overview
And this is the most important part, the content analysis report. You can see which are the most commonly viewed pages on your site and how are they used? which page are your visitor’s favourite. Reports are separated to 4 sections Content by Title, Content Drilldown,Top Landing Pages,Top Exit Pages .
Of course there are more usefull informations in Google Analytics otherwise why would anyone use it. It’s a good place to start for a new webmasters. But once you moved on to the next level, you’ll need more advance tool for your website. Thanks .
