This software allows you to create a virtual machine, like your real machine. This way you can make a test on your virtual machine without harming your real machine. Even if you accidently crashed your virtual machine, you won’t end up beating up your face because your real machine is still in good condition.
Just like your real machine, Virtual PC came empty after you first installed it. You need to install an operating system. Either it’s Microsoft Windows or even Linux although it’s not officially supported. I installed Ubuntu 8.0 on a Virtual PC when i first tried it. You don’t have to worry about device drivers, everything is virtual. You can have multiple Virtual Machine on one Virtual PC. So you can test various of Operating system on the same time. This could save a lot of time.
Although USB support is not included in Virtual PC, it’s actually not a big problem. You can create a Shared folder to share documents between your Host OS and Guest OS. Like the Shared Folder you have in your network. Virtual PC do have network connection which you can configure in the setting section.
