It doesnt matter if you’re not a network technician, even a home user should at least know something about networking. You even use a network cable in your home for connecting your computer to an adsl modem. So, here’s a short guide on how to prepare a network cable, how to pick a right cable type for your environment.
Tools you need for this task
[ End A ] + [ End A ] = Straight / patch cable
[ End A ] + { End B ] = Crossover cable
Use Crossover Cable when connecting:
Computer to Computer
Computer to Uplink Port
Computer to Access Point
Computer to Print Server
Computer/XBOX/PS2 to DWL-810
Computer/XBOX/PS2 to DWL-900AP+
Uplink Port to Uplink Port (hub/switch)
Normal Port to Normal Port (hub/switch)
Use Straight Cable when connecting:
Computer to Residential Gateway/Router
Computer to Normal Port (hub/switch)
Access Point to Normal Port (hub/switch)
Print Server to Normal Port (hub/switch)
Uplink Port to Normal Port (hub/switch)
How do I know I’m using the right cable ?
It’s a right cable if you see link light is blinking after you have connected both ends. Means devices are communicating.

Terrific, thanks for sharing this info. Looks great on my iPhone, but on the Blackberry Pearl’s browser your site comes out a little abnormal.
@color printer scanner,

Really sweet, I enjoy do it yourself projects. We’ve discovered a whole lot through doing my diy projects over the years, as well as ended up saving multitudes of money also lol
@Jaylin Imram, thanks for visiting .

Nice blog. I got a lot of effective info. I’ve been keeping an eye on this technology for awhile. It’s intriguing how it keeps shifting, yet some of the core elements stay the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their latest acquisition in the area?
Hi, how are you? I truly like ur blog! I was wondering if you can assist me (I am positive your other subscribers might also be interested). I want to get into creating a blog as well and I currently write a blog with Word Press, but it is very difficult for me to create and I would like to attempt to get several good training guides or courses (preferably ones that are free) that can assist me in using wordpress correctly. As a Word Press site owner yourself, do you perhaps know where i could find online tutorials to be able to do this? Thanks!
@Steve Gornie, thanks for comming & i’m glad u like this blog. For wordpress, i believe u should visit their site coz that’s where i started . It’s an honour, u asking help from me, i’m just a beginner like u . At wordpress.org, u can check out plugins, themes, widget and all but what important (for me) is people’s comments on it . Which they had some experience on it, that’s how i learn and i still am. Hope to see you there. Good Luck on ur journey.
Was very pleased to find this website.I wanted to thank you for this great read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it and I have bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.
