With Lightroom, A Cheap Camera Will Do

I always wanted to be a photographer. Travelling, walking around with a cameras and gadgets. Shots here, shots there. Man, that is so cool. But that would cost me a big bag of money. Something i cant afford. However i already made my first step with a cheap Olympus Mini. Small, compact, fit perfectly in my pocket. It’s great but not too great, just great.

Like i said, my little Olympus is ‘just great’ and that’s all. It certainly do the job but ‘quality’ is the problem. Most of the pictures looks dull or unlively. I’ve sneaked around some photo shops, digging. Seems they all use Adobe Photoshop CS2 or CS4 which i really hate so much. Too complicated for me. Everything i do with it, is just a big mess. Nothing good came out of it. Then i found out about Adobe Lightroom.

Lightroom, a photo management and editing software has been around for a long time but the previous version really didn’t catch my attention. After a long surf around the net, i realize that current version 2.x (2.3) has many positive comments and reviews and decided to give it a try.

This is much easier to use compared to Photoshop  CS2 or CS4. Editing photo became such an easy job. Just point and shot. I dont even care how it looks on camera. Lightroom will save me later and i’ll get all the compliments for great photos i printed. It’s magic for a noob like me.

Quick develope offers  ‘presets’ to easily put some life in photos. But you can always switch to ‘develope’ mode for more detail editing options such as lights, contras, temperatures, exposure and everything.

This is the first photo i tested with Lightroom. It’s done in less than a minute.

Yeah, you’ll have that with just a click (preset) and you can see the difference. You can go further than this but it requires a little effort to study and understand about colour channels and all.

I guess that’s all for now guys. Thanks for being here for me.

yeah, it's mine. Spectacular? i hope you really mean that. Thanks

About the photos, i think most of online photos are edited first unless they're snapped using a really exclusive cameras which have built-in super cool functions.

  6. is nocritics.blogspot.com your blog cuz those images u have made are pritty specatacular. I've always wondered why royalty free images look better than the ones on my camera… Thanks for this.

yeah it's cool, it's easy. … 'develope' section's even cooler.

You mean Photoshop CS3? Peter, i didn't even pass CS2. Photoshop, it's everything but it's too complicated, too advance and not very suitable for a starter like me. I spent weeks on it with no results.

it's been a week i'm with lightroom. You know what, most of my old photos renewed. Ha3, now i can print them

  10. WoW! That is so amazing with what you did to that image on lightroom. I've got cs3, does it have it, i've never used it but seems cool. Best thing about images is you can sell them as stock photogtaphy. Thanks for this, if i've got it, will try it out.
