A Blog. A common word even a six year old kid knows what it is. You check your blog(s), your mails every single day. Do you even know what it means. Wikipedia says ” Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog “. Sounds like it’s a simple thing that you can just decide to have a blog while you’re reading newspapers. Say “ Oh honey, i’m going to start a blog ” and she says ” Oh that’s great “.  Do you have any idea how hard blogging is ?


Scopes
Covering a wide scope can make you go nuts if you’re new in blogging. On the starting point, you might be thinking by doing this you’ll get more options in writing articles, it’s like you’ll get variety of topics to dig and write. Sorry, that won’t happen. In blogging, you are your personal assistant. Everything your boss told you is final, all you can say is ‘ Your wish is my command ‘. With tons and tons of resources available around, you just don’t have the time to dig. Even if you got a big shovel on your back. You kept on digging and digging until you surface on the other side of the world, and of course you still got nothing to write.

Publishing Frequency
A post a week. Oh come on ! You actually want your reader to read a post a week ? They can read your article in five minutes top. A minute to comment on your post if they want. Then what ? Watch ESPN for a week and come back to your blog. That’s ridiculous. Top bloggers publish more than ten articles a week and all you do is one per week. What could you possibly get with that ?

Posting
A boring post will only gives you a massive bounce rate and no comment from your readers. Why ? Because the post is so lame and readers didn’t even finish reading it. They just got there and they’re leaving without saying goodbye. A simple thanks ? far from it. What about new visitors ? They probably jumped out and never came back. Even worst if they memorized your address and just ignored your links in search engine results. Then your blog soon turn out to be an old garage with spider webs and none visitor.

Never Enough Time
You need hours even days joining social sites, looking for contacts just to promote your blog. Interacting with others, changing information, sharing ideas, asking for help and everything. Not to mention designing, optimizing, marketing, everything you can think of, just put it on the list. All these will fills up your schedule and surely you’ll be eating dinner with your laptop. I’m just too busy could be the best reason to break up with your girlfriend.

Don’t even dream about it
When your posts are crap, plus with only a couple visitors hitting your blog then don’t even dream about page rank. Don’t even dream to become listed on the first page in search results. It’s not what you can get with a junk blog. There’s no magic spell that can make this a reality. Don’t bother looking.

Can you see the big picture now ? So, do you still want to stick with blogging ?
